All of our children have one thing in common - a parent who has few or no supports - partner, family, or community - they can trust to care for their children. Providence House can be the partner, the family, the loving caregiver that many of our parents need while they work with us in our Families ForeverTM program to get their lives back on track and be the healthy, safe and nurturing parent they want to be for their children.
Beyond caring for their children, Providence House empowers parents to be safe, stable caregivers for their families through comprehensive case management services, counseling, parent support, links to community services, and up to six months of aftercare support following family reunification.
Our parents are courageously seeking help to end the cycles of abuse, addiction and dependence that have swirled around them for generations. And we’re making progress every day toward ending the “cycle of abuse.”
We know healing can happen and that it can last.
For women like Sandra, who delivered a van full of supplies from an office baby shower and wept, saying, “20 years ago I knocked on your front door, drug addicted and at rock bottom, and said, ‘please take care of my baby.’ She has remained clean and sober ever since and raised her now adult daughter, but always pledged that she would one day pay us back for keeping her baby safe.
And Cathy, who experienced an overwhelming number of issues including homelessness and domestic violence and sent us a 1st grade report card and a thank you note saying, “I would have never seen this if Providence House hadn’t been there.” Her 7 year old daughter lived with us when she was only 3 months old.
