In our 27 year history, as Ohio's only licensed Crisis Nursery, Providence House has provided support to over 5,500 children and families in crisis through its residential crisis care program. Providence House has become a community solution for the protection of at-risk children, prevention of child abuse and neglect, and preservation of families. In 2007: 352 inquiries for placement were made, 167 babies and children were admitted into our care and they were provided with 4,905 days of care. Children placed at Providence House were affected by a range of family crises: 44% of the families were homeless, 58% of the children placed were at risk of abuse/neglect, 8% of the children were a witness to domestic violence.

Our residential crisis care program encompasses four service components:

  • Shelter
  • Direct Care
  • Family Education
  • Case Management
