Ashanti

Ashanti brought her two young children to Providence House after losing her job and falling behind on her mortgage and utility payments. While her children stayed at Providence House, Ashanti was able to start a new job and began working 80 hours per week to catch up on her bills. She also was engaged with all of the family preservation services at Providence House, including case management, parent education, and visiting her children. Our licensed social workers helped her to obtain birth certificates to allow her to access benefits to increase family stability. After 45 days, Ashanti had caught up on her mortgage, car payment, and electric, gas, and cable bills. She was able to reunite with her children in a much more stable environment. Ashanti is currently enrolled in the 6-month aftercare program where she can continue to receive case management support and attend group parent education sessions.
