Dorothy, a grandmother with custody of three of her grandchildren, wanted more for her family.
Dorothy*, a grandmother with custody of three of her grandchildren, wanted more for her family. Dorothy utilizes Providence House services quarterly for respite for a break and emotional support and also participates in our Aftercare program. Dorothy has lupus, which makes leaving the house especially difficult during this time. She said she “found her humility” and asked us for help with food and diapers.
We were able to deliver fresh vegetables, milk, ground beef, eggs, and orange juice to her to help take care of the family’s needs. When delivering the food and basic needs items to her, she shared that she was finally approved for a four-bedroom single-family house in Cleveland Heights and will be moving soon. Dorothy stated, “Patience pays off. Good things come to those who wait, and I have waited for 12 years!”
Providence House is happy to continue helping families like Dorothy and have good news to celebrate during a time when it’s easy to lose sight of hope.
