Press Release - Providence House Celebrates 42 Years of Keeping Kids Safe & Families Together at Annual Luncheon

Providence House is excited to welcome members of the media and the community to our 42nd Annual Luncheon, Advancing Opportunities Built with Hope, on Wednesday, April 26.

The event celebrates more than 14,000 children kept safe and families kept together since opening our doors in 1981, and will highlight our recent accomplishments and plans for the upcoming year!

This year's Luncheon will feature:

• A keynote address from Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne
• Exciting updates on our new East Campus Crisis Nursery opening this year
• The Every Child Award Ceremony honoring University Hospitals, the Cleveland Guardians Significant Others Association, and Three Arches Foundation

The Luncheon takes place from 12 - 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the InterContinental Cleveland. Doors will open at 11:30 am, and guests will have a chance to purchase raffle tickets and mystery bags from our Wall of Hope to support the children and families of Providence House.

Members of the community can purchase tickets at provhouse.org/luncheon until Thursday, April 20.

Providence House

• Keeps children safe by offering free, voluntary (non-custodial) 24/7 emergency shelter to children newborn through age 12 in our Crisis Nursery when their families are experiencing a crisis, and providing for their physical, emotional, developmental, and educational needs.
• Supports families through crisis by connecting them to resources, and offering individualized parent education, counseling, case management, and trauma services to help families stay together and support long-term family stability.
• Strengthens communities by advocating for underserved families and demonstrating the impact of family preservation. Providence House collaboratively partners with more than 130 public and private service providers to link families to community support, treatment, and therapies.

Last year, 99% of families who had a child stay in our Crisis Nursery successfully reunited after addressing the situations that brought them to us! The children who come to Providence House are primarily from economically disadvantaged families in approximately 30 zip codes throughout the Greater Cleveland area - 88% of our families were living at or below the Federal Poverty Line last year.

Providence House also offers community-based services, including a Community Education and Resiliency Program that offers parent education, case management, and trauma services, and a Community Referral Program that provides basic needs items to families through referrals from partner agencies.
