Press Release - Mayor Justin M. Bibb to Deliver Keynote Address at Providence House Annual Luncheon
Posted April 19, 2022 in Press Releases
Providence House, a non-profit organization focused on family preservation and supporting children and families through crisis, is hosting its 41st Annual Luncheon on Wednesday, April 20 at 12 pm in the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel.
This year’s Annual Luncheon is a celebration of a groundbreaking year for Providence House, as construction is now underway on its East Campus expansion project, which will help address an alarming increase in the need for its services.
Throughout his campaign and his first 100 days in office, Cleveland Mayor Justin M. Bibb has prioritized health, safety, education, and equitable opportunities for Cleveland’s children. Providence House is grateful to have him join this special event and share the importance of caring for the city’s youngest residents.
Karen Dolan, Providence House Board Member, and Paul Dolan, Cleveland Guardians Chairman & CEO, co-chair the $20 million Giving Hope for the PHuture Campaign to design and build the Providence House East Campus, and will share the latest updates on the project. The East Campus will enable Providence House to provide emergency shelter for nearly 250 more children and support nearly 400 more families each year through its family preservation crisis nursery services and community-based support programs.
The event will highlight the many ways Providence House adapted and expanded its services throughout the pandemic to ensure continued support for children and families in crisis, and feature first-hand accounts from Providence House families.
Natalie A. Leek, Providence House President & CEO, will present the Every Child Awards, which honor individuals and organizations that have made an impact on the children and families of Providence House in amazing and selfless ways. This year’s honorees have all been long-time champions of Providence House and its East Campus project:
- Jane Cronin, Providence House Board Chair Emeritus & SVP, Corporate Controller, Sherwin-Williams
- The Sherwin-Williams Women’s Club
- The Albert M. Higley Co.
- HD+S Architects
Nearly 500 guests have registered for the 41st Annual Luncheon to celebrate Providence House, including corporate sponsors, community partners, elected officials, and individual supporters.
Members of the media are invited to cover the Annual Luncheon. Free parking is available in the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel garage. Media check-in will be located outside of the Grand Ballroom.

About Providence House
Providence House was founded in 1981 as a safe haven for children whose families were experiencing a crisis and has since evolved into a multi-generational program that embraces and supports the entire family.
- We protect children by providing for their physical, emotional, developmental, and educational needs. We provide free, voluntary (non-custodial) 24/7 emergency shelter to children newborn through 12 who are at risk of maltreatment.
- We support families by connecting them to resources, cultivating nurturing practices, and encouraging responsibility. We offer individualized parent education, counseling, case management, trauma services, and Aftercare to support long-term family stability.
- We strengthen communities by advocating for underserved families and demonstrating the lasting impact of prevention. We collaboratively partner with over 130 public and private service providers to link families to community support, treatment, and therapies.
The infants and children who come to Providence House are primarily from economically disadvantaged families in approximately 30 zip codes throughout the Greater Cleveland area. Of the families we served last year, 90% were living at or below the Federal Poverty Line. 100% of children admitted to the crisis nursery program were reunited with their families.
As we have expanded our service offerings beyond just families with children in the Family Preservation Crisis Nursery, 312 families were provided with over 900 basic needs items through community distribution events and home delivery services. In total, nearly 700 children and families were served last fiscal year by all of our programs and services.
